Gator Games is giving me another opportunity to run a giveaway, and this time, it’s for the Dungeon Master’s Guide 2 for 4th Edition!
I haven’t had a chance to review it yet (I will hopefully by the end of this week), but everything about this book has been good. Seriously, walk out there onto the internet and do a search for “DMG 2 4th Edition Review” and you’ll run into a wall of great reviews. Here are just a few from fellow members of the network:
- Product Review: D&D Fourth Edition Dungeon Master’s Guide 2 from the RPG Athenaeum
- What’s cool about the DMG2? from NewbieDM
- Review: “Dungeon Master’s Guide 2″ from Critical Hits
Now, some people weren’t happy with how the contest last time required a Twitter account, so it’s going to work a little bit differently this time.
To enter, all you have to do is comment.
Nothing more, just comment on this blog post, and you’ll be done. But that isn’t the only way you can enter. If you have a Twitter account, then you can also enter by following me (@allgeektout) and Gator Games (@gatorgames) and then tweeting this message (or something similar):
I just entered to win the DMG2 for #dnd #4e from @gatorgames and @allgeektout! http://ow.ly/WHiQ
That doesn’t only get you one entry. You can do that up to FIVE TIMES A DAY every day of the contest, and each time gets you an additional entry added to the hat! That means you can get 6 entries on the first day (1 comment and 5 tweets) and 5 each subsequent day. The contest ends on Sunday, January 24th at 11:59PM central/9:59pm pacific time, and is open to residents of the continental United States.
I’m going to be stealing a page from Geek’s Dream Girl to pick the winner. Using Random.org, one winner will be chosen from the comment entries, and one will be chosen from the Twitter entries. Then, using an old-fashioned coin flip, I’ll decide the winner from those two.
So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and enter! And while you’re at it, check out Gator Games, the sponsor:

I’d like to give the new rules a chance, so having the DMG would be great.
Man, that would be sweet. Haven’t played since 2nd Ed. And I’ve been dying to try the 4th, because of the good reviews. But, yeah $$$ holding me back.
Good luck to whoever wins!

While I applaud people who want to learn 4th Edition, remember this is the 2nd DMG, and neither of the DMG have nearly enough Edition specific elements to get a full gauge on the system. My suggestion would be to find an outlet who runs RPGA events in your area and ask them to help you. You can also download the free trial of the character builder, which includes the first 3 levels.
Alric is interested in entering. His first copy of DMG 2 is already getting pretty beat up…
It’s my birthday this Saturday, and this would be an awesome gift. Just sayin…
In.
Very cool. Consider me entered!
I’m in!
Just picked up a set of the core books to start a younger group out and would love this…great promotion !
Hi, I would definitely use a DMG!
I’ve been considering this one for awhile. Free would be nice.
I was surprised by how helpful the first DMG was, that I can’t wait to see what the DMG 2 has in store!
Hoping I can snag this book!

I’ve heard good things about the DMG 2. I just haven’t been able to justify the purhase. Hope to win.
I’d like to see it…
I’ve heard enough good things about it to want it, but not enough to buy it. I’m in.
There is no way I would even WANT this.

4th Edition is actually pretty fun. A lot easier to get people who have never played Dnd to get into it. Here’s hoping to get DNG 2
Please enter me. Thanks!
Please help a poor college student DM!
Haven’t made the jump to the 4th ed as the wall of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition books are making me a bit skittish. Free works, though!
Woohoo count me in!
Looking to start my first game as DM, this would really help out!

I’ve been playing 3.0 for awhile now and I’m very interested in what 4e is like. *crosses fingers*
Hey, there here is my daily entry. I’ve heard good things about this book. Can I also say I think the 1 entry a day system is a better one? Saves me time with tweet latter
I would love to win a DMG2. Thanks for the contest.

Thanks for the opportunity.
Thanks for picking me so that I win.
Would love to win.
4th Ed. is more fun to play than to DM, maybe the DMG2 will help.
From what I’ve seen, the DMG2 is really an excellent book. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
I’m interested … though I’v got to say, encouraging people to spam their followers isn’t all that cool.
I’ve been contemplating picking this up, maybe I’ll wait a few days.
I just got bought the first PHB, DMG, and MM and would really love to add this to my collection!
