[News] Lots of Things IN SPPPAAAACCCEE Tonight!

August 11th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

A bit last minute, but it turns out that Saturn’s rings aren’t the only thing you won’t see tonight (or are the only things you won’t? Gah, this is confusing). As it turns out, if you look out tonight, you’ll also be able to see “Perseids”.

A picture of lights streaking through outer space as a result of the Perseid meteor shower.

Tonight, on August 11th, is the best night to see them – the moon won’t been hiding them, like they will be tomorrow night. So, if you hurry out between 9 and 11 PM local time tonight, you should be able to not see Saturn’s rings and see the “densest point of the dust trail left by the Swift-Tuttle comet”!
