Were you looking forward to playing some Magnetic Shaving Derby on your brand new DSi (which was just released in Japan this weekend)? Well, you are out of luck. Turns out that Nintendo has come up with a way of blocking the flash carts that enable homebrewing on the DS Phat and DS Lite. So far, the following carts have been tested and proven not to work with the DSi:
- R4DS
- EZ Flash V
- CycloDS
- G6 DS Real
- M3 DS Real
- Supercard DS One
- iTouch DS
- FCard
- NCard
- M3 DS Simply
- U2DS
I understand that Nintendo is largely doing this to prevent piracy, but it is dissapointing that these don’t work with the DSi. It seems like some people will be keeping their DS Lite around for more than just GBA games.
