Want to get some good old-fashioned gaming on? You are in luck – Good Old Games has announced the end of its closed beta, and is now available to anyone with a PC and an internet connection. This announcement comes just over a month after the closed beta started sending out invitations to people who had signed up over the summer. Why did they make the transition so quickly? Said Adam Oldakowski, the Managing Director of GOG.com:
The success of the Early Access Beta showed us that there is huge demand for DRM-free classic PC games, and it helped us to prepare the site for the public launch. We are endlessly grateful to the users for their support and assistance
In addition to the new open beta, GOG.com has announced the added support of two new publishers, bringing the total number of providers to four: Interplay, Codemasters, Strategy First, and Pluto13.
