Warning: The Following Post Contains Spoilers for Both Past and Upcoming Seasons of Doctor Who and Torchwood.
Producers from the BBC have just revealed some interesting news about the upcoming episodes of the popular sci-fi show Doctor Who. This Christmas, the Doctor will be taking on a new companion named Rosita, played by Velile Tshabalala, to help him take on the evil Cybermen. Velile has already let slip a couple secrets about her appearance during the Christmas Special, entitled “The Next Doctor”.
The Doctor is faced with another Doctor. Rosita is the assistant to the other Doctor, but as the episode goes on she starts helping the Doctor we know.
Doctor Who isn’t the only BBC show where things are heating up. Torchwood, often considered an adult-oriented Doctor Who, has already been announced to have an unusual season, with five episodes aired in one week instead of thirteen broadcast over the course of a year. But it seems that the story is a bit unusual as well – the BBC has allegedly constructed a set of a giant crater over where the Torchwood team’s (fictional) underground hub is.
Additionally, four new cast members have been announced for the show, Lucy Cohu, Susan Brown, Cush Jumbo and Rik Makarem. It is unknown who, if any of these people, are going to be a part of the Torchwood team, but it is assumed that at least two of them will be taken the place of the characters Owen Harper and Toshiko “Tosh” Sato, who died in the Season 2 finale of Torchwood.
